BREAK THE CHAIN

“Break-the Chain”- Primarily, as one looks at it, it is a negative phrase as we always talk about unity or “coming-together”. But this caption has become very effective in communicating and creating awareness of the need for “coming together” to defeat the spread of the virus.

The  best caption that has attracted me during the Corona days is ‘China lied people died’. There have been controversies in many countries about the counting of deaths and infections, but China, in particular, has been accused of lack of transparency over the reporting of its figures. What appears evident now is that China was dealing with this a month earlier before the entire world came to know about the outbreak. Even the government of China probably would not have expected this to grow as a pandemic. I feel that if China had warned other countries about the danger of the virus and given a proactive global response then the conditions would have been much better. They should have taken proper measures when the very first cases were reported in Wuhan. They also should have had proper data of the infected, dead, and the quarantined people. This would have decreased the mass deaths by at least some percent.

For all the people who are frustrated on restrictions put on their commute, I would like to say; limitations are on the outside, look within you, there is a limitless universe waiting to explore

THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

V P Mukundan, Palakkad

The  Only thing we have  to fear is the fear itself-Don’t worry, Be happy. Happiness cannot be transferred to each other’s minds as the same has to come from within. We are all reeling under fear of the unknown. The corona pandemic and the subsequent social media coverage definitely made human beings more knowledgeable about the seriousness of the virus spread but at the same time, in my opinion, people are getting too panicky. In any situation, it is the courage to face the inevitable that counts, not the fear. Optimism  and a strong belief that dawn will definitely come  tomorrow scaling away the  sorrows combined  with strong  will power can  beat  any unprecedented situations  including  Corona pandemic
