A situation is developing where both supply and demand are going down. Our monthly expenditure apart from fixed expenses like salaries has plummeted. The obvious items like travel and eating out or ordering in will not come back in a hurry. Neither will capital purchases or major expenses like painting the house. Acquiring property may be a long term casualty. Buying new clothes is another area where we’ve realised that have enough for several years if not forever. On food, while we eat well, indulgences have become few and far between. Expenditure on essential medicines remain but others used for managing various ailments have come down. Is our lifestyle healthier? Expenses on cosmetics are minimal. Local shops have proved more reliable than large e commerce companies. All payments are electronic. No cash is being used. Are these changes going to last? I have a feeling that some of them will. If so, it will have a serious impact on manufacturing, supply chains and jobs. It points to a major restructuring of the economy.
Overall people are going to be cautious with expenditures, particularly those who suffered loss of income in this period . However , To start with after Corona opening , there may be some Revenge Shopping – people have saved money , and might start blowing up with excessive shopping , aided by an unpredictable fatalistic mindset .

Covid-19 has infected more than 150 countries confronting all of humanity, impacting lifestyles, business, economies that all of us have largely taken for granted. In fact, even prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, the global economy was in turbulence on account of disruptions in trade flows. The situation has now been aggravated further. Shutdown of economic activities has created severe demand, supply, liquidity crises across discretionary spend categories. The ongoing recession in manufacturing may extend to service sector as well.
The outcome aftermath of Covid-19 will witness –
1) decrease in consumption and private investment
2) supply chain disruption resulting shortage of essential goods
3) restricted spending by the people on non-essential goods / activities
4) job loss / reduction in salaries especially in certain sectors viz. Retail, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism etc. and consequent migration
5) every country will first and foremost will look after their own security, well-being and self-reliance
6) debt default etc..
Remobilization of workforce and other resources would need long time and therefore returning normalcy in the situation cannot be expected immediately. People may have to face lots of hardships in the intermittent period. Everyone will have to be ready for enough sacrifice in their day to day living, in order to sustain this critical period.
Post Corona scenario will pave real push for digitization and Work from Home will be a more acceptable trend in the days to come. Also, there will be thrust for local self-reliance in production and all related technologies with more focus on medical/health care sector.
The revival of economic conditions will primarily depend on the speed and measures adopted by various developed economies viz. America, Europe, japan, China etc. Government spending will only initiate the revival process as larger private investments will take little longer time. There will also be pressure on governments

The disease which has shattered many lives will lead to permanent shifts in political and economic power in a way that will become apparent only later. As the example of Italy and Spain the European Union has failed to manage the crisis. After the pandemic,we may see more disintegration. The government of US ,China and Russia which have the most powerful strategic, military and economic players of our time may come together to shape a new world order post corona virus. Due to decrease in oil prices due to the Corona outbreak ; the Middle East may observe significant slowdown in global economic growth post the pandemic.The world will look for more sustainable models of growth.

It’s unclear as to how post covid days are going to be as we are still speculating with the fear of community spread. But right now we have hit a ‘PAUSE’ button on life, soon enough we shall hit the ‘RESET’ button, so set your priorities straight. Values for life have changed but number of days of our life are still the same; remember this and don’t rush to hit the ‘FAST FORWARD’ button once this situation is overcome.

Post corona world in my view wouldn’t be the same. A new normal is emerging out across all dimensions whether it is family, hygiene, job market, education and what not!
The economic situation of the entire world is going to be worse hit. Job losses, social hardships are lurking down the horizon but Human beings are known for its adaptability. Through unified global action, we shall overcome all these hardships. This is life and by a blink of a second life could standstill like what we are experiencing now. There are many lessons to learn for a better living and a resilient livelihood.

At the outset,let me be frank any prediction as to what would be the world post Corona may not come true. The so called powerful Nations who suffered maximum,might come together to ascertain the causes of this outbreak with a vengeance in mind to punish the guilty while equally powerful but less affected shall try to use the opportunity to to grab the supremacy over the other. The economy of all Countries will definitely show a downfall and the world trade will see a declining trend at least for few years ahead. There could be better lessons learnt towards less dependability on each other and the research and developments will have a boost.Health care will improve throughout the world especially for the senior citizens. Many Super Powers will realise that atom bombs and arsenals are not the real powerful weapons but the ability to come out of pandemic outbreaks, make the nation rich and admirable.
